WOWchitecture showcases design that is bold, beautiful and brilliant -- architecture with attitude. You won't see any cookie-cutter towers or modernist boxes here. As the late, great, Oscar Niemeyer once wrote, "my work is not about 'form follows function' but 'form follows beauty...'"

What you will find on this site is the work of architects who weren't afraid to cast aside conformity and chart their own course; men and women who understood that bland is not beautiful and "fitting in" not a virtue.

The writer Johann Von Goethe once called architecture "frozen music". To me it's art writ large. At it's best, it's not only an art form in its own right, but one that brings together the finest qualities of the other arts: poetic expression, sculptural form, dramatic impact, musical harmony and visual wonder.

You won't just see magnificent architecture featured on this site. You'll also visit magical spaces: faraway places with strange sounding names. And you'll travel through 2,000 years of masterworks in all of the decorative arts.
